StarBuzz caught up with Harry Baweja under the gracious hospitality of his friends, Trish & Manjit Bakshi at their residence in Oakville.
"While going through the pages of Sikh history, as I focused on the events around the lives and sacrifices of the four sons of (Tenth Sikh Guru) Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji, I knew I had the story of my next film in hand. I knew that it would not be possible to make a live-action film on the four sons of the Guru, so animation was the only option in which format I could make a feature film on this part of Sikh history,” said Baweja while talking to Bhupinder Virdi CEO StarBuzz. The film, set for release later this year, tells the story of the sacrifices of the four great sons of Guru Gobind Singh ji -- Baba Ajit Singh, Baba Jujhar Singh, Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh. “It took me an intense effort of literary and technical research under the guidance of the religious leaders for over three years to come up with the project,” added Baweja. The grand evening at the Bakshi residence was well attended by the elite of Greater Toronto Area. Apart from Meena Chopra and Bhupinder Virdi of StarBuzz to name a few who were there were Paul and Rani Minhas, Toni and Dimple Chawla , Chair Women's Wing ICCC Ravinder Mahli, Ravi and Reena Khurana, Sunny Gill and Inder Chopra of PIFF, Reena Deon, Rupali, Mr. and Mrs. Suri, Mr and Mrs Rai and many others and many other.

TOIFA 2013 - A Glitzy Affair by Sasha Tewari
It was a glitzy, glamorous, hungama filled night new to most Bollywood lovers who attended the inaugural TOIFA awards ceremony in Vancouver.
From those who wanted an opportunity to see Bollywood Stars - TOIFA gave attendees a performance filled masti night they won't be forgetting for a while! According to 'Indian Standard Time' the show was right on point, but going off of the 'official' time, TOIFA started off an hour late. With Bollywood lovers squirming and shifting in their seats however, all was soon forgotten as Master of Ceremonies, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, officially opened TOIFA 2013. After a quick recap of the TOIFA festivities that had already taken place (namely the Musical Extravaganza and Technical Awards), attendees got a glimpse into the philosophy behind the TOIFA statue, and the concept behind the awards show.
The night quickly progressed to the first (and undoubtedly best) performance of the night - with Abhishek Bachchan entering the awards stadium on a dholak, weaving in and out through the audience. Cheers erupted and fans shot up from their seats at first sight of the film star, who was literally close enough for many to touch as he made his way to the stage. Accompanied by choreographer Shiamak Davar's dancers, Abhishek danced his way through some of his best hits, enticing KJo and SRK to sing along to Bunty aur Babli with him. Moving quickly through the show however, 'Ranushka' (Ranbir and Anushka) started the award presentations by calling singers, models, actors, and sponsors on stage to present the 15 awards lined up for the night.
As we moved through the night filled with smashing performances and witty repertoire between 'Ranushka' and Boman Irani, a surprising reoccurrence brought up by various stars was how fast the show was moving along! A fact brought up first by Abhi (who tried his best to delay his 'Best Actor - comedic role' win speech with some jabber) and then Boman (who attempted to get just one person from the audience to answer a 'are you liking the show so far?" question) - was quite unexpected given that the show had started an hour late! However even though the night was moving ahead of schedule (reportedly!) it wasn't free of minor hiccups and awkward silences while the audience waited for the MCs to come back on stage. Performances by both Katrina Kaif & Priyanka Chopra played right to the heart of the audience as we danced along to hits like 'Chikni Chameli' and 'Mar Jawwan' while oohing and aahing to their beautiful costumes and enticing stage presence. But the kicker of the night definitely had to be seeing Aishwaya Rai Bachchan up on stage after an approximate 2 year public performance hiatus, bringing to life classics from 'Taal' and 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'. From her sultry black get-up to the coy performance, Aishwarya once again showed us why she is known as the most beautiful woman in the
world.
Of course, the night could not end without sight of Mr. Shah Rukh Khan himself, who brought about the finale of TOIFA by rocking to some of his biggest hits. TOIFA 2013 did B'wood honours in its presentation of performance acts mixed amidst awards presentation, literally bringing the larger than life industry to our doorstep. The awards show was filled with dhamaka, hungama, aur bahut sari masti, and sent all attendees home with a reminder that our love for Bollywood is very well warranted!

The Times of India Film Awards in Vancouver got off to a smashing start
As reported by Aloak Tewari-The Times of India Film Awards in Vancouver got off
to a smashing start with a thumping, audience rousing, electrifying Musical
Extravaganza on Thursday night. The back-beat was loud and frenetic and the
singing was both loud and melodious; how and why it didn’t blow the roof off
the Pacific Coliseum will remain one of those mysteries that can only be solved
by extraterrestrial science.

For a fistful of 100 Crores! Lachman Balani
Ever since 2008, when Aamir Khan’s Ghajini set the bar of grossing Rs 100 crore (Rs 1 Billion) in domestic ticket sales, everybody has tried to crack that barrier. However, in 2009, it was Aamir Khan’s 3 idiots that once again made the grade. As a matter of fact it grossed over Rs. 200 crores!
However in 2010,Salman Khan’s Dabangg and the Ajay Devgn /Kareena Kapoor starrer Golmaal 3 made the grade. In 2011, five movies, Ready, Bodyguard, Ra.One, Don 2 and Singham grossed more than Rs 100 crore . Though there is some dispute on Singham, considering the parallel economy in India, it is a safe bet to assume that it did surpass the Rs 100 crore mark. Bodyguard set a record for being the first movie to gross Rs. 100 crore in a week!
2012 has been a banner year for the Rs 100 crore club! 9 movies have made it! Agneepath, Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore, Barfi, Dabangg 2, Bol Bacchan, Son of Sardaar, Ek Tha Tiger and the late Yash Chopra`s Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Ek Tha Tiger broke the 1 week record set by Bodyguard and grossed the benchmark figure in 5 days! It is now closing in on the record set by 3 Idiots and may just cross the Rs. 200 crore mark by year end!
Please note these figures are only based on domestic ticket sales in India without including the entertainment tax. If one counts total global sales, what with the popularity of Bollywood movies all over the world, some movies have grossed more than Rs 300 crores!
As far as actors go, Salman Khan tops the list having acted in 5 of the Rs 100 crore films, followed by Kareena Kapoor,Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha and Asin who have acted in 4, and coming in tied at 3rd place are Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra who have acted in 3 of these top grossing movies.
In 1913 the first Indian movie Raja Harishchandra was released. Next year, 2013, marks the centennial celebration of the Indian movie industry. I am sure all the directors, actors, script writers and all those involved in this fascinating industry will release some great movies and perhaps we will see at least a dozen movies that will surpass this benchmark figure and maybe go way beyond!
Long live Bollywood!
