Regional artists subvert minimalism in AGM exhibition Form, Colour, Line

Opening Reception March 6, 6 pm
(Mississauga) - New Art Gallery of Mississauga exhibition Form, Colour, Line (March 6 - April 18, 2014) explores the basic elements of minimalism through painting and sculpture. Emerging regional artists Natasha Gouveia and Laura Marotta break away from traditionally "masculine" forms of minimalism by critiquing its conventions and by inviting the viewer into their process of creation.

Concurrent to Form, Colour, Line, in the AGM XIT-RM, is HyunRyoung Kim: Relational Space. Kim's abstract paintings explore relationships between colours, shapes, figure and ground in a strong visual language that is at once intellectual and emotive. The XIT-RM is sponsored by the RBC Foundation.

Members of the media and the public are invited to the Opening Reception of both exhibitions on March 6, 6 pm, at the AGM. There will be a free bus from The Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen St W, Toronto) at 6 pm, returning at 8 pm.
