MISSISSAUGA, ON – Ink Movement, a local collective of young writers, invites Peel high
school students to register for Project Inkwell. In November 2013, Ink Movement
received a Youth in Action grant from United Way of Peel Region to organize
this one-day arts conference. The goal of the conference is to empower
attendees by exposing them to a broad range of art forms, including creative
writing, visual arts and modern music. Project Inkwell will be held on Saturday, April 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
at the Art Gallery of Mississauga and Mississauga Central Library. One major component
of the event includes a creative writing competition. The winner will have his
or her entry published in the upcoming issue of Mississauga Art Council’s
Limelight Magazine. Other activities throughout the day include keynote
speeches, performances, contests and interactive workshops. The talented lineup

Since workshops run concurrently, youth can tailor their conference
experience by selecting workshops that suit their interests. Peel students can

complimentary T-shirt.
"Project Inkwell is an excellent way for students to explore art as a
tool for personal growth and social change,” said Anna Chen, Ink Movement

with established artists, as well as each other. It’s going to be a lot of
