StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-September 8, 2011 - 6:50 p.m. ET- Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today issued the following statement.
“Yesterday’s deadly suicide bombings in Quetta, Pakistan, remind us that the terrorist threat posed by groups such as the Taliban is still very real.
“On behalf of all Canadians, I extend my deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the more than two dozen people who died. And I wish a swift recovery to the scores more who were injured.
“The attack against Pakistan’s Frontier Corps, one of the key institutions involved in Pakistan’s fight against violent extremism, is deplorable.
“Canada will continue to work with Pakistan and our allies to help Pakistan address the challenges it faces.“We advise Canadians around the world to remain vigilant as the 10th anniversary of 9/11 approaches.”
