(Mississauga) The Art Gallery of Mississauga's Board of Directors says goodbye to outgoing Chair Mike Douglas and Secretary Pat Longo. Board Chair Mike Douglas will be stepping down to pursue a political career with the City of Mississauga, and is currently a running candidate for Councillor of Ward 4. Assuming the position of Board Chair is Robert Tattersall.

During his time as Chair for the AGM's Board of Directors, Mike Douglas has brought over thirty years of production and corporate communications experience, and acted as an instrumental voice in launching the AGM's visibility within the City of Mississauga and beyond. As the magazine editor and co-publisher of the popular MississaugaLife - Spirit of the City magazine, Douglas has been active in the AGM's marketing and branding campaign, helping pave the way for the future of the AGM, and the future of arts, culture and community in Mississauga.

The Art Gallery of Mississauga's staff and Board of Directors would like to thank Mike Douglas for his numerous contributions.

The AGM would also like to thank Pat Longo for her dedication towards the gallery.

Robert (Bob) Tattersall is a twelve year resident of Mississauga and recently retired after a forty year career in investment management. He became a member of the Art Gallery of Mississauga shortly after moving to the city, and was elected to the Board in April 2013. As a visitor to art galleries around the world, Tattersall believes that a creative and well run gallery contributes to the vibrancy of life in a city.

Since 2013, Robert Tattersall has helped to launch initiatives such as the publication of the AGM Permanent Art Collection Posters, and sponsorship for the AGM's Annual Art Auction. An avid spokesperson for the power of art to unite a community, Tattersall is a devoted collector of Mississauga art and sits on the AGM's Permanent Collection Acquisitions Committee.
