IN BETWEEN THE LINES Poetry and Art Show in Metaverse - Review by Reeti Mishra

The art gallery covers a vast plethora of emotions in women during their most vulnerable moments in life but also depicting their resilience and strength. With lines like ’I know I will burn till the fire burns in me’ to ‘I fear remaining an outline’, a woman’s path though is strewn with monotony, anonymity and most often being almost a non existent entity, these poems are an amazingly brilliant saga of how she carves out her own niche.

From the women as Shakti of the poet Mandira Ghosh and the power that comes from truth, bliss, and consciousness, Anna Yin’s poem speaks volumes about bonding with nature, missing someone loved and the entwining of all three. In Vedas, women are symbols of Prakriti, mother nature. Nature becomes part of us and we derive strength from nature.
Alka Tyagi’s poem leads us to the various phases of awakening, of truth around us!
If Zohra Zoberi’s poem is about empowered moments in an immigrant woman’s life, Sangeeta’s poem clearly states in a subtle manner the power of saying NO to others whereas undeniably stating that the real happiness lies in giving happiness to others.

It was indeed delightful and touching to read, as the poets have woven their poems delicately with words of wisdom and expressions so vivid and diverse; yet so powerful!

My best wishes to Meena Chopra and all the poets!

Special 26 Movie preview

The movie is conceptualized from a real-life daring heist on a prominent Jeweler in Mumbai, India on 19-March-1987. An unknown man posing as CBI officer Mon Singh, recruited 26 men posing as income tax officers, masterminded & executed a daylight income tax raid on the Opera House branch of a jeweler “Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri” and disappeared with a big haul of jewelry. The incident shocked jewelers across Zaveri Bazaar in Mumbai and the police were unable to apprehend any suspect.  Folklore is that the unknown con-man was Natwarlal, who sold iconic national  monuments like “Taj Mahal, Red Fort & Rashtrapati Bhavan” to unsuspecting investors.  Natwarlal  a master of disguises, used many aliases and novel ideas  to cheat a number of industrialists. Till the very end no one was able to catch him and remains a mystery even in his death.

Movie Review: 'Life of Pi' is a master work of visionary cinema  | Lifestyle | GMA News Online | The Go-To Site for Filipinos Everywhere

Movie Review: 'Life of Pi' is a master work of visionary cinema  | Lifestyle | GMA News Online | The Go-To Site for Filipinos Everywhere

“A story that will make you believe in God,” is how one character describes the events that take place in “Life of Pi”, the latest film from Ang Lee (“Sense and Sensibility", “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, “Brokeback Mountain”).
Though religious epiphanies may vary from viewer to viewer, there is no denying that “Life of Pi” is a very, very beautiful film to look at. While the same could be said of any number of computer-imagery-assisted films these days, very few of them have, at their center, a compelling, emotional story being told by a master filmmaker.
Adapted from the best-selling novel of the same name by Yann Martel, “Life of Pi” tells the story of Piscine “Pi” Patel, a young boy growing up in Pondicherry, India on the grounds of a public zoo that his father operates for the local government. StarBuzz, Toronto

Khiladi 786 Movie Review

Now that the 1980s' variety of masala films are being lapped up by spectators, it is heartening to see Mumbai-based film-makers working hard to create zany entertainers, also boarding the next available flight to South India to clinch the deal/s for the remake rights of Southern blockbusters. The A-list actors, on their part, are equally gung ho for unabashed entertainers, consenting to allocate ample time to movies of this variety.

Son Of Sardaar Movie Review 4/5 STARS

By  Taran Adarsh,
S.S. Rajamouli, the creative genius, holds the enviable record of delivering stupendous Blockbusters in a row. His films, consequently, have been remade in various Indian languages... the Hindi film industry has woken up to his brilliance as well. VIKRAMARKUDU was remade as ROWDY RATHORE, EEGA was dubbed in Hindi as MAKKHI and now, Rajamouli's MARYADA RAMANNA gets a Hindi avatar -- SON OF SARDAAR -- after being remade in Kannada and Bengali languages. MARYADA RAMANNA, in turn, displayed a striking similarity to the 1923 Hollywood silent film OUR HOSPITALITY.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan Movie Review 4/5 STAR

Yash Chopra is synonymous with love and romance and also spellbinding drama and heartrending emotions. Is synonymous with harmonious music and exquisite poetry and also snow-capped mountains and mustard fields. Is synonymous with waterfalls and rains and also Switzerland and Punjab. And so much more... JAB TAK HAI JAAN encompasses everything that one has come to expect from a Yash Chopra movie. This time, it's a brand new setting, but the journey remains the same as his previous love stories -- just as the lead man and his lady love sprint towards each other from opposite directions, to cuddle each other lovingly, you're told that the romantic pathway is crammed with thorns and spikes [a quick clarification: all this talk of JAB TAK HAI JAAN being a present-day avatar of Yash Chopra's DAAG is absolutely unfounded].
