Katherine Highgate named Miss Trillium Canada 2016

Mar. 2nd, 2016 – Dresden’s Katherine Highgate was announced as the winner of this year’s Miss Trillium Canada Pageant held over the weekend.The competition took place at Toronto’s Al Green Theatre and delegates were scored in personal interview, swimsuit presentation and the evening gown competition. Contestants were awarded points for their poise, personal style and stage presence. The competition came to a conclusion on Saturday night when contestants competed in a live show where judges made their final decision. The judging panel for this year was led by Miss Universe Canada 2008, Samantha Tajik. Rounding out the top five were Saira Kowlessar (1st RU); Jolorn Samuel (2nd RU); Kiran Matharu (3rd RU); and Carly Judd (4rth RU).

Olivia Ferney of Dundas, Ontario took home the top prize in the teen category. Both Highgate and Ferney will spend the upcoming year representing the Miss Trillium Canada organization and attending events and charity functions around the city.
