Farzana Doctor is a Toronto-based author. Her first novel, Stealing Nasreen, received critical acclaim and earned a devoted readership upon its release in 2007. Her second book, Six Metres of Pavement, was praised by Publishers Weekly as “… a paean to second chances” and was named one of Now Magazine’s Top Ten Books of 2011. It also won the Lambda Literary and Rainbow Awards (2012) and was short-listed for the Toronto Book Award. She was named as one of CBC Books’ “Ten Canadian Women Writers You Need to Read Now” and was the recipient of the Writers’ Trust of Canada’s Dayne Ogilvie Grant (2011), was the autumn 2012 Writer in Residence at the Toronto Public Library. She co-curates the Brockton Writers Series.

IF is a Spoken Word Poet, songwriter, husband, father and friend.
His poems channel the wisdom of Spirit, the rage of the wounded and the yearning that resides in every human heart. “Every poem I write”, he says, “is a shout-out to the sacredness of our days, a three chord party jam, and a tribute to the triumph of love over fear.”
IF is a member of the 2013 National Championship ‘Toronto Poetry Slam’ team, winner of 2013 Buffalo International Slam, has led workshops and appeared at numerous festivals including the esteemed ‘Word on the Street’, and ‘Words Aloud’ Festivals.
IF writes his best poetry while walking and can often be seen wandering the streets of Toronto, gesticulating wildly and muttering to himself.
