Shyam Benegal & Sangeeta Bahadur at the Launch of Jaal1 |
Sangeeta Bahadur’s ‘Jaal-Book 1’, the first part of a trilogy, was launched recently at the House of Lords, London, England.
“Kaal triology isn’t about a person. The hero of my book is Arihant and the story is about the world he lives in and how he solves the problems that he comes across in the passage of life. This is a mythological adventure novel drawn from the vast repertoire of Vedic philosophy and metaphysics", says Sangeeta, who is also the director of the Nehru Centre in London.
The trilogy is woven in the fantasy world of Indian post-Vedic era. Protagonist is Arihant with an unusual responsibility to destroy Aushij, the Lord of Maya. He gets tricked into a ‘prison of dreams’ by his siblings many millennia ago. Confronted with enemies, human and Mayavi both. Arihant has to come to terms with the results of choices he has to make. Trilogy actual is an exploration of the eternal questions about the self – who am I, what am I, why am I?”
This is Sangeeta Bahadur's first published work but she is a seasoned writer.
