Vivek Oberoi's Marriage Shoes Worth 25 Lakhs!

November 2, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The Vivek Oberoi – Priyanka Alva wedding was a grand affair following every detail that a Hindu wedding is supposed to abide by. And while the Oberois had come fully prepared, hardly did the groom expect that he would land in such deep waters. Yes, Vivek Oberoi had to shell out lakhs moments before entering the ‘mandap’. And before you start speculating, the groom’s shoes, as is a custom in traditional Hindu weddings, were snatched away by his sisters-in-law, who demanded a sum of 25 lakhs from the groom before handing over his shoe!

However, all of this was just in pure jest. Following the customs in a Hindu marriage, the sisters-in-law usually play strange and playful tricks with the groom with the intention of taking him unawares. But little did Vivek Oberoi expect that his saalis would also play the same trick on him. Reports claim that the groom was not even armed with so much money and so the bride’s sister had to settle for a lesser amount than initially demanded.
A source at the wedding venue revealed that the Vivek Oberoi wedding was fun, what with all the mischievous games that his sisters-in-law engaged in.
