POPULAR INDIAN STAND UP COMEDIAN and CANDIAN TV TALK SHOW CELEBRITY TO CO-HOST: TD FESTIVAL OF SOUTH ASIA

 

TORONTO, ON (June 17, 2016) – TD Festival of South Asia is getting ready for one of the best summer celebrations in the city of Toronto and will announce the exciting line-up for performers in the next four weeks.

 

This year the principal Master of Ceremonies include multiple award winning, popular Indian stand up comedian, Vasu Primlani, will be seen co-hosting this year's Festival of South Asia.

 

Well known for tackling social issues such as the environment, Primlani said: "I am thrilled and honoured to serve the City of Toronto through the Festival of South Asia. I'll be glad to represent the kaleidoscope that South Asian cultures is."

 

Joining her as co-host is Randy Persaud, who hosted talk shows on Rogers Media Television like Talk Local, Local Notes, Cable 10 Live and Carassauga to name a few.

 

"We are welcoming one of the most riches cultures in the World – India right here on the Gerrard...it doesn't get any bigger and better than this. A street festival gone Bollywood, how can you not love that?", asks Randy to you.

 

The longest running outdoor South Asian festival in North America, the 14th Annual Festival of South Asia, will take place at the Gerrard India Bazaar on Gerrard Street in Toronto on July 16 and 17th, 2016, from Noon until 11pm.

 

Festival Producer/Director, Tushar Unadkat said: "Our aim to give the audience a full-fledged experience of what it feels like to be in South Asia. Of course, we want to revive the legacy of Gerrard India Bazaar and promote "Little India", for that is where people came in the yesteryears when they wanted to experience India."

 

Co-sponsored by TD Bank, the festival this year promises an exclusive line-up portraying the exclusive and ever-vibrant South Asian culture and heritage including a Rangoli competition, Literary & Visual Arts, concerts by famous South Asian artists as well as an amazing selection of mouth-watering South Asian food and drinks.
