VISUAL ARTISTS CELEBRATE PAN AM GAMES IN NEW EXHIBIT
Mississauga, ON – Visual artists are proud to celebrate the excitement of the Pan Am/Parapan Am Games 2015 in a vibrant new exhibit titled Art in Motion. The
exhibit is presented by Visual Arts Mississauga at Riverwood in
partnership with the City of Mississauga’s Culture Division and the
Mississauga Central Library. Local residents are invited to the Opening
Reception taking place at Mississauga Central Library on the third floor on July 6, 2015 at 6pm.
As Pan Am excitement spreads throughout the City of Mississauga, local
residents are encouraged to stop by the library and discover local
artists’ interpretation of the festivities. Art in Motion
features an exciting array of two dimensional art works exploring
movement, sports, action and athleticism. The show features an eclectic
mix of works by over 42 Ontario artists including acrylic, sculpture,
mixed media etc.
Mississauga Central Library located at 301 Burnhamthorpe Road West in
Mississauga. The public is encouraged to vote for the People’s Choice
Award by filling out a ballot. The recipient of the Peoples’ Choice
Award will be named on August 10th, 2015. All prizes have been generously donated by Curry’s Artist Materials. The exhibition ends on August 29th, 2015.
The 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games are the largest multi-sport events ever held in Canada, spanning 5,300 square kilometers and 15 host
municipalities. The City of Mississauga is hosting a variety of Pan Am
sporting events at Mississauga Sport Centre including Judo, Karate,
Taekwondo, Wrestling, Goalball, Powerlifting and Wheelchair Rugby. For
