Continued Support for Canada’s Seniors

Seniors have helped build our country and continue to make important contributions to our society.
Since coming into office, the financial security and well-being of Canada’s seniors has been a priority
for me. Our Conservative Government is providing almost $2.8 billion in annual tax relief to Canada’s
seniors and pensioners through landmark tax saving initiatives like pension income splitting.
Our Government is also investing in programs that are helping improve the quality of life for Canada’s
seniors. Economic Action Plan 2014 provides an additional $5 million annually for the New Horizons for
Seniors Program to support community-based projects that benefit seniors. Through this program we
are helping protect seniors from elder abuse, promoting volunteerism and helping seniors stay involved
Standing up for Canada’s seniors and pensioners continues to be a priority, as I remain committed to
supporting Canadian families and communities.
