CALLING ALL YOUNG ARTISTS FOR LIMELIGHT'S BLACK HISTORY SHOWCASE!


MISSISSAUGA, ON - Get inspired and learn about Black history at the Limelight Black History Month Showcase! Artists are welcome to come out and perform! The Mississauga Arts Council (MAC) is thrilled to present the Limelight Black History Month Showcase on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm at the C CafĂ© (located at 300 City Centre Dr., ground floor). This event is produced in collaboration with Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre. Artists from the MAC's Limelight Association of Young Artists are sure to impress audiences as they perform at the free event presented in an Open Mic format. 

Families, friends and local artists are invited to perform! The Open Mic is a relaxed stage for local musicians, instrumentalists, spoken-word poets, singer/songwriter and artists of any discipline to entertain for a supportive and appreciative audience. All artists looking to perform must RSVP with the MAC office at 905-615-4278

The event will be hosted by Emcee CDH Live! aka Craig Doyle Henry. CDH Live! is a Poet, Producer, Songwriter, the sound of Rap/Rock and spectacular Spoken Word... Compared to Industry icons The RootsToby Mac of DC Talk, he has captivated audiences across North America. His mission is to enhance the world with inspiring entertainment and consistently enrich life through music and poetry.

The event will be sponsored by the C Cafe. Come and enjoy a delicous soul food dinner special created by chef Thomas.

WHAT IS THE LIMELIGHT ASSOCIATION OF YOUNG ARTISTS?
Limelight is an exciting community of young artists under the umbrella of the Mississauga Arts Council. Limelight’s mission is to: connect aspiring young artists and provide them with the support, recognition and opportunities required for them to thrive. Limelight is instrumental in the production of exciting projects including MAC’s youth showcases, travelling open mics, the Mississauga Future Star Competition, the Mississauga Youth Writers Guild, workshops and more! Members include visual artists, filmmakers, dancers, singer/songwriters, writers, graphic designers and more!
