With the holidays just around the corner, the Mississauga Arts Council (MAC) family would like to cordially invite you to rejoice in the festive and joyous season by being inspired at its annual Cranberry Breakfast. This year’s theme is Achieving the Greatness Within and will take place on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 7:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Living Arts Centre (4141 Living Arts Drive). The Cranberry Breakfast is an invigorating morning of networking, inspiration, culinary delights, raffle prizes ...and entertainment. The morning will begin with some jazzy Christmas carols, played by pianist Victor Cheng. Following Victor’s performance, we will feature Motivational Speaker, Youth Mentor & Coach, Dan Blackburn, sharing his wisdom on achieving personal greatness and motivating you to achieve your pillars of greatness!
This is definitely one event you won’t want to miss! Dan Blackburn delivers a powerful message on how to ensure the person looking back at you in the mirror lives an inspiring and inspired life, while on the inevitable quest to return to ‘your’ Joy Island. For the last 16 years, Dan has been helping people turn their fears, frustrations and failures into extraordinary lives. As a young man, he felt virtually invincible when envisioning his success. He worked hard and focused intently on his dreams. As he grew older and ventured into the “real world”, he began to lose his drive and allowed fear to stop him in his tracks. He found himself failing over and over again until one day he hit rock bottom: He was jobless, living in a room he rented from a friend with no savings or business experience; struggling in his personal relationships and finding NO support from his family; and too afraid to ask anyone for help. He realized then that if he was ever going to succeed, he needed more than just a dream and the willingness to work hard; he needed a plan and the commitment to execute regardless of challenges and fears. The realization transformed him from a dreamer into a doer and was the genesis for what would eventually become his life mantra: Dream. Plan. Execute. Today, he has trained thousands, including champions like PK Subban of the Montreal Canadiens; David Bolland of the Toronto Maple Leafs (formerly Chicago Blackhawks) and Tyler Sequin of the Boston Bruins. Training champions like PK, David and Tyler, he has developed the Pillars of Greatness curriculum, a step-by-step guide on how to Dream, Plan and Execute the life you want. Offered as a keynote series for schools, associations, corporations, and clubs, with a 12-month mentorship program or as a series of downloadable manuals and podcasts via www.danblackburn.com, the curriculum teaches 3 life-transforming principles that will help you form a plan to shatter the fears and failures that have stopped you from creating the life you want. Following Dan’s motivational presentation and discussion, we will open the floor to you, giving everyone in attendance the opportunity to announce any upcoming events they would like to promote and share their triumphs from the past year. The Cranberry Breakfast will be held at the Living Arts Centre, located at 4141 Living Arts Drive. Tickets are now available to purchase for $25 for MAC members and $30 for non-members. They can be purchased by calling the office at 905-615-4278 or emailing mac@mississaugaartscouncil |
