A community performance salon
 Last week, we took over the atrium at Daniels Spectrum and presented the first of three presentations of Lexicon. Spoken word artist Andrea Thompson, musician David Celia, actor Beryl Bain and MC Rhoma Spencer entertained the community with a cabaret-styled performance.David graced us with his musical talent revealing how fatherhood inspires him and asked the audience where they draw their inspiration from and to get up onstage to share alongside his freestyle accompaniment. Next, Beryl took us back into history by examining our hands to see our ancestors written on our palms to show the varied cultures that live in this diverse community. Andrea capped off the evening with her beautifully cadenced spoken word poetry concocting a poem that utilizes all twenty words taken from TOK.
