Centre Stage: Stars in her eyes, world at her feet - Rupal Lakhani

After winning the title of Miss India Canada 2008 and fielding calls from Bollywood, Rupal Lakhani appears to be headed for the stars. With brains,beauty and a few dance moves under her belt, the U of T graduate might be tailor- made for the song and dance capital of the world. Being chosen as Canada's delegate for this years Miss India Worldwide pageant happening on April 27th at the Sunway Putra Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. 
Rupal will represent Canada and be competing against delegates from over forty other countries. 

Commencing on April 21st she will attend a series of events in Kuala Lumpur leading up to the final event of the pageant on Saturday April 27,2013. As a woman of self belief and true substance she is charming, hardworking and keeps an amazingly creative eye for whichever job she does. 

With a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science her passion for the arts and fashion industry has led her to where she is today. Being part of Shiamak Davars Institute of Performing Arts for over 12 years, Rupal is already part of what you would call a Bollywood phenomena. Performing at the Unforgettable Tour in Toronto at the Rogers Centre alongside Abhishek Bhachan and Aishwarya Rai, dancing to the beats of Aladian with Ritesh Deshmukh a film directed by Sujoy Ghosh and hosting a number of events in Toronto alongside Shahid Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Priyanka Chopra and Salim Suliman,there is no stopping this triple threat performer. Satya Paul one of India's top fashion designers has exclusively designed Ms.Lakhani's outfits for this years pageant in which she will walk the ramp and showcase his current spring collection pieces.  

Being born and brought up in Markham, Ontario she says never forget your roots, where you came from, or the people that have always been there for you. She quoted  Barbara Taylor Bradford “The value of life lies not in the length of days, but in the use we make to them; a man may live long, yet get little from life. Whether you find satisfaction in life depends not on your tale of years, but on your will".The Miss India Worldwide Pageant is the only known international ethnic pageant. There are affiliates in over forty countries, and since 1990, the organizers have staged this glamorous event annually in various parts of the world this year being Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Miss India Worldwide has been acclaimed as the “most glamorous Indian function in the world.”
