We are pleased to announce our fourth monthly Queen Gallery Poetry Night, on Tuesday February 26th, 2013, 7-9 p.m. at the Queen Gallery. It is an open–stage night of music and poetry on the last Tuesday of every month with wonderful features. Bring your poetry, music and friends and share your art with us at the wonderful Queen Gallery.
Any style of poetry and music in any language is welcome. If you write or perform in a language other than English, you could offer translations or an explanation in English.
We are extremely excited to announce our fourth feature, Sheniz Janmohamed, a dazzling spoken word poet who mesmerizes the audience through her beautiful person and personality.
Sheniz Janmohamed: With over 100 performances under her belt, Sheniz Janmohamed has performed at a variety of events including the TedXYouth Conference in Toronto (2010) and the Indian Summer Festival in Vancouver (2012) to name a few. Her book, Bleeding Light, a collection of ghazals in English, has received international praise and has been taught in numerous Canadian academic institutions including York University and the University of Toronto. Her experience in the art of spoken word spans over 8 years and she teaches spoken word in schools across Toronto. Her initiative, Ignite Poets, has traveled as far as Kenya to develop the international spoken word scene and to give a voice to new young talent. Last month, she traveled to India to read at the prestigious Jaipur Literature Festival.StarBuzz, Toronto
