www.insurancerate.com StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-Toronto, Ontario, February 29, 2012 – Today, Lois Brown, Member of Parliament for Newmarket-Aurora and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Cooperation, on behalf of the Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety, announced that a Trusted Traveller kiosk is now officially available to NEXUS and CANPASS members at Billy Bishop TorontoCity Airport for entry into Canada.
"The Trusted Traveller kiosk is another example of how our government is working with the United States to ensure safe, secure and efficient travel for Canadians," said Minister Toews. "It will offer travellers quicker clearance at the border, while allowing border services officers to concentrate their efforts on those travellers that are high or unknown risk."
"The kiosk is welcome news for the City of Toronto and Canadian business," added MP Lois Brown. "Faster processing of travellers and goods at a vital link to Canada's financial district will be a boost toCanada's economy."
NEXUS is a bi-national Canada-United States Trusted Traveller program for pre-approved, low-risk travellers entering Canada or the United States at designated air, land and marine ports of entry. CANPASS Air is a CBSA domestic Trusted Traveller program for low-risk, pre-screened travellers. Members can clear the border faster when arriving in Canada from any country in the world. In air mode, both programs provide members expedited customs and immigration clearance by using automated self-serve kiosks.
