Popular Bat Rider story becomes a free audio podcast serial

Bat Rider fans attend a launch party to listen to the squeaking of the bats!

StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-Sep 03, 2011 - ‘My daughter totally enjoys reading your books!’ said Fran Johnson to Anthony Barton today at the launch of the audio version of Bat Rider and the Cave of Oomba, an e-book popular with children aged 7-11 in Canada, the UK, Australia and the USA. Bat Rider and the Cave of Oomba tells the story of the boy Matthew John, born on the planet of the mile-high Yumi trees, who wishes to become one of the lucky boys and girls who are chosen by the bats to fly to the treetops to help harvest the Yumi fruit. To make his wish come true, Matthew John must first brave the Bat Cave and find a bat to ride.

It is a thrill to join Matthew John on his audio journey of discovery. You can hear the bats chattering. You can hear the Bat Rider theme music. You can hear the voice of the clumsy bat Bulmer who has trouble with his landings, and meet the wise Mr. Seeds, all thanks to the magic of musician and sound producer Siri Arnet. All eight episodes of the story are free, and all may be downloaded at no cost to pod, tablet or computer by going to Podiobooks.com or iTunes and searching for Bat Rider and the Cave of Oomba.

For readers of the Bat Rider books, it is an extra thrill to hear the story narrated in person by the author, Anthony Barton, who helps brings the characters to life. Many fans of the Bat Rider series are listening to episodes of Bat Rider and the Cave of Oomba on their way to work and school!
