Jason T. Jones's Book Nominated for Global eBook Awards

Loogootee, IN - 9/6/11 – Jason T. Jones's Twas the Fourth Night before Christmas has been nominated for a Global eBook Award in the Christian Children's category.

StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-Sep 06, 2011 - There are creatures and customs that pass on from generation to generation but have no back-story:  Who is the Easter Bunny?  Where is he from?  Why does he hide eggs in our yards?  What about this tooth fairy person? What does he want with all these teeth anyway?  These are just some of the questions answered in the "Modern Myth" series.
The Modern Myth series begins with "The Fourth Night before Christmas."  Gargog, the wickedest dragon of all (but certainly not the smartest) launches a diabolical scheme to destroy the countryside and stop Christmas forever.  The only one who has a chance to stop the evil scheme is a timid hare who would rather mind his own business.

Jason began writing in college some twenty years ago. A strong interest in fantasy and adventure led him to explore the children's genre. Children's stories are by far the most "fun" for him to write. Jason and his loving, extremely patient wife Carol have three children and two grandchildren. Other members of the family include a demanding feline and an eighty pound yellow lab that thinks he is a lap puppy. They live in a small town in Southern Indiana where Jason owns a business and serves as director of the local community foundation.  Jason has published several trade articles.  This is his first published work of fiction.

“Everyone is talking about eBooks,” said Dan Poynter, founder of the Global eBook Awards. “EBooks have reached the tipping point and are outselling books on paper in several categories. EBooks are not replacing paper books; they are in addition to. The e-Reading devices such as the Kindle are increasing the amount of book reading.”

According to Joseph Dowdy, the Director of Awards, this year's competition demonstrated the power of eBooks to bring new voices to the world of literature. "We had one author who had just completed her first ebook and she won in her category. What a great victory for her and for budding writers everywhere," he commented. "We congratulate all the winners, finalists and nominated entries and we wish them all continued success as others discover their talent and value their work."
