The Miss Teen Canada-World 2011 competition is in progress; the nationwide search in 10 Canadian cities to select the Sixty-five National finalist takes place between the months of November 2010 through till May 2011. Organizers are searching the country and crowning sixty-five Canadian teen girls, all which will then travel to Toronto Ontario, to compete for the title of Miss Teen Canada-World. The final competition will be held in July 2011 in Toronto Ontario.
Girls aged 13 – 19 from across Canada will compete for the coveted title and the largest prize package awarded in a Canadian teen pageant. Over $30,000 in cash, prizes, and scholarships will be awarded to talented aspiring teens. The winner will also travel the globe including Kenya to participate in building a school. This year, "Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful" is much more than slogan for Miss Teen Canada-World. Miss Teen Canada-World provides the opportunity to be an ambassador for Canada and its mandate is to empower youth to take a leadership role in their communities. Girls will develop new interests, become a positive role model, and contribute to projects in their community by raising funds for FREE THE CHILDREN. Since 2009 MTC-W has collectively raised over $128,000 for Free the Children. The girls will also be focusing on academics, building self-confidence and learning about all of the qualities that enable a young woman to become a leader of tomorrow.
FREE THE CHILDREN is the official charity of choice for the MTC-W Competition. Each of the National Delegates is required to raise a minimum of $400 within their communities for Free The Children. The fundraising initiative is as a prerequisite into the National MTC-W Competition and part of their scoring.
