'Tanu Weds Manu': Madhavan’s Fascination For The Airport Scene

StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-January 5, 2011: Madhavan, the Bollywood actor who has acted in several Bollywood flicks has certainly carved a niche for himself in tinsel town. This is one actor who has proved that his acting abilities are something to reckon with and has always delivered the goods with utmost dedication.

However, even an actor of his caliber tends to get a bit superstitious. Well, this aspect of Madhavan came to light when the shooting of Anand Rai’s movie Tanu Weds Manu was in progress.

According to reports, Madhavan is very gung ho about his entry scene in the Raj Kumar Hirani blockbuster 3 Idiots. In this movie Madhavan was shown giving up on his flight to New York and walking right into the Delhi airport, which was actually the Hyderabad airport in real life. This entry of him according to the actor was a very
lucky scene for him.

Thus, when the shooting for the Anand Rai movie Tanu weds Manu had to have him embarking from a flight from London to Delhi, Madhavan insisted that the shot to be taken at the Hyderabad airport,  just as the 3 Idiots shot had been taken.
Now to comply with his superstition, the director and the producers take up additional costs to take the unit to the Hyderabad airport to shoot the sequence where Madhavan gets down at the airport and steps into Indian soil to hunt for a perfect bride for himself.

Well, seems like even Bollywood is not free from the surreal world of superstition!
