PWD offcer's daughter, a young ambitious girl, Shruti is a 20- something girl from a middle class household in Delhi. She dreams of the finer things in life. Focused and determined, her plans in life are well laid, and that means, Shaadi Mubarak, her very own wedding planning company. Add to this a deadline of 5 years to achieve everything before an arranged marriage is thrust on her.
Synopsis
Bittoo (Ranveer Singh), on the other hand, has no real aim in life. As a final year college student of Delhi University, he whiles away his life having fun with his buddies, barely scraping through his exams.
A chance and inopportune meeting (or as you would call it, fate) brings the two of them together on a tumultuous journey where they become partners in their very own, "Wedding planning ka bijness". The rules however, are clear: "Jisse vyapaar karo, usse kabhi na pyaar karo" (Don't mix business with pleasure).
Together, their friendship and business, enters the ups and downs of the lavish Delhi weddings. And while trying to find themselves, Shruti and Bittoo discover each other and realize that in the course of their journey, unke khud ke rules ki bajegi band!

She is young, vibrant, confident and even bullheaded at times and won't take nonsense from anyone and is not scared to say what's on her mind. Along with Bittoo, she works hard towards the success of their business - their joint venture, and while doing so, clearly demarcates the boundaries of business and pleasure. Shruti's recipe of success... no love till ambitions are fulfilled. But life does not allow you to live by a plan. Shruti had one, but now her heart says one thing and her head says something else.
Ranveer Singh: Bittoo Sharma
A final year college student of Delhi University, Bittoo is a young, ambitionless but jugaadu man who hails from a family of sugarcane farmers in Saharanpur. Carefree and nonchalant in life, he whiles away his college life in having fun with his buddies, barely scraping through his exams, flirting with girls and making a quick buck through devious schemes.
Even after college, having no real career plans of his own, he is determined not to go back to Saharanpur to be in the middle of sugarcane fields. Finding an easy way out by partnering Shruti in her venture, he convinces her to let her take him on as partner by proving his loyalty and commitment.
Through their journey together, he surprises Shruti with his enterprising nature and commitment to the job by finding innovative ways to tackle a task. However, his real growth only begins when he discovers love and that's where his real problem also begins.
