Tim Hudak Meets With GTA Real Estate Agents and Outlines PC Plans To Get Ontario Moving Forward

StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-MISSISSAUGA - Today, Ontario PC Leader, Tim Hudak, met with real estate agents to discuss the impact of the HST and rising hydro rates on home sales in the region.
Hudak also discussed three key policies for the Ontario PCs like helping to create good private sector jobs, refocusing government on the services people need and care about the most, like health care, and giving hard working families the break they deserve. Earlier this week, Hudak addressed the OREA where he thanked the organization for being a strong ally in the fight against Dalton McGuinty’s HST tax grab.
In the next provincial election, Ontario families will have a clear choice between Dalton McGuinty, whose policies are out of touch with Ontario families and businesses, and a Tim Hudak government that will put families first, get government focused on the services Ontario families care about and need, and make private-sector job creation a priority.

QUOTES:
“The reality is, the tax burden forced upon family budgets by Dalton McGuinty has been stifling, the latest crunch being the HST. From filling up your car with gas, to the heat for your home, to routine expenses like haircuts, the HST hits families hard. It’s clear, Ontario families need relief.”- Tim Hudak, Ontario PC Leader“For so many Ontario families, home ownership is a dream. When more families have more resources and more confidence to move into a new home, the closer Ontario will be to returning to our proud spot as a leader in Canada. This requires a realistic and affordable plan to grow our economy and create jobs that are based on a level playing field where everybody gets a fair chance.”
-- Tim Hudak, Ontario PC Leader
QUICK FACTS:·       The OREA estimates that the HST will add $1,500 to the cost of a real-estate transaction.
·       A poll by the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario (ACMO) found that the HST would result in an estimated 6% increase in the operational budget of the average residential condo.
·       Altus Group Economic Consulting estimates that the renovation sector will be forced to pay $765 million in new tax to the McGuinty Government due to the HST.
