ALLAH KE BANDAY Director Faruque Kabir: I’m A Rebel

November 3, 2010 : Faruk Kabir is anxious. There is less than a fortnight that remains for the release of his debut directorial and acting venture ALLAH KE BANDAY. However, his nervousness could well be restricted to the period between now and the film's release since after that, he can well be expected to move into his next venture.
"I am not limited to anything and have actually led a very adventurous life," says the 28-year-old who hasn't stuck on a single project or place right through his lifetime and has always been on a move, "To my good fortune, I do feel that the way my life has spanned over these years gone by, I have lived every day to the fullest."
Faruk could well be right here. After all his life is not just centric to ALLAH KE BANDAY which is about teenagers taking to crime. Credit it to his growing up years but Faruk doesn't come with an essence of attachment to anything in particular.
"I have never studied in a regular school; I have always been in a boarding school so it has been a different kind of an upbringing," reveals Faruk, "There in the boarding school, I was in the midst of a cosmopolitan background so there was a lot that I was exposed to. Even during my youth, I have never felt shy of striking a conversation with anyone and anywhere. I can sit across the table and strike a conversation with you at the drop of a hat. I am comfortable anywhere, whether it is a jhopad-patti or an elite gathering. Also, I have never stuck with one single group of people ever. In a way, I am rebel."
This is what one senses in ALLAH KE BANDAY as well which looks rebellious by all means. Starring Sharman Joshi in the principal role along with Faruk Kabir, Naseeruddin Shah, Atul Kulkarni and Anjana Sukhani, the film is all set for 12th November release.
