MANAGER OF MCDONALD'S RESTAURANT IN HAMILTON

RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS GLOBAL AWARD

BRAMPTON, Ont. (June 13, 2018) Cindy Wilson, former Manager of the McDonald's Restaurant in Brampton and current restaurant Manager in Hamilton, has won a Ray Kroc Award, an accolade which recognizes the top performing McDonald's restaurant managers globally. Only one percent of restaurant managers around the world receive the honour, which includes a cash prize and a trophy.

Cindy was awarded her prize at the Ray Kroc Awards Gala this past April at McDonald's Worldwide Convention in Orlando, Florida.

Having started working for McDonald's 23 years ago in Hamilton, Cindy quickly climbed the ranks after two years as a crew member. In 2013 she was promoted to General Manager and, two years later in 2015, she was provided the opportunity to open a new location in Brampton, where she received the Ray Kroc Award. Cindy has since returned to her original location in Hamilton as the General Manager.

"It's such an honour to receive this award. It makes me feel like I've accomplished something I never thought I could," said Wilson. "I come into work and do my job, and be the best I can every day."

Every year, McDonald's franchisees and regional management across the country nominate restaurant managers for the Ray Kroc Awards to recognize their hard work, dedication, and commitment to McDonald's and its customers.

"Since joining the McDonald's team, we've watched as Cindy has applied her strong leadership skills, strategic business acumen and unrivalled work ethic to our business," said Shelly Hansen, Vice President McOpCo and West Region. "This award is our way of thanking Cindy for her ongoing efforts to grow and improve our engagement with both employees and guests."

Awards like the Ray Kroc Award reflect McDonald's commitment to creating memorable employment opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds. With a focus on employee growth, the company strives to offer its people with the skills and experience they need to progress in their careers, with around 90 per cent of restaurant managers beginning their careers as crew.

To help employees on their career path, McDonald's Canada and its franchisees offer competitive wages, flexible work schedules and scholarship programs. Candidates that are looking for local restaurant career opportunities with the ability for growth can visit their local McDonald's or go to www.worksforme.ca to apply online.
