Flato Markham Theatre for the Performing Arts
Kristian Alexander | conductor Rodney Gray | flutist Alastair Thorburn-Vitols | descant Alexa Petrenko | host Ritual and mysticism fill the air with the haunting sounds of Night on Bald Mountain, Mussorgsky's tone-poem inspired by eerie Russian folklore. Flutist Rodney Gray masterfully interprets Nielsen's exciting and enigmatic Concerto for Flute. Centered around a child's vision of Heaven, Mahler's Symphony no. 4 is sure to inspire and empower. A rare chance to hear Mahler's iconic work with the voice of a boy descant instead of the customary soprano.
