New software app helps fledgling guitarists learn how to play fast
Knoxville, TN, Dec. 11, 2013, -- Software developer Applanta® and karaoke content creator DigiTrax Entertainment announce that industry icon Peavey® Electronics has been a contributor to their new guitar learning system called Play a Tab. An application for new guitarists that has instruction, mirror-image chord tablature, and music with scrolling chords, Play A Tab includes over 50 lessons to choose from, and users have access to a library of chord and lyric prompted songs to learn.
“We want to create lifelong relationships with new guitar owners so it’s crucial to help them get through the initial learning curve,” stated Tony Moscal, General Manager - Business Development, Peavey Electronics.
Moscal refers to guitar industry statistics showing that between November and December over half a million guitars will be sold in the U.S. The goal of the Play a Tab app is to create a bridge for these fledgling guitarists to get past the initial difficult phase of picking up a new instrument, encouraging them to become lifelong learners.
“As an educator and musician, I find that Play a Tab is an effective system for teaching beginners the basics. It gets users playing songs in no time. And as a guitar owner that’s all you want to do,” commented Jonathan Sexton, lead instructor in the lesson series.
“I’ve taught guitar for many years and I’m hoping that by the end of Christmas day, Play a Tab will have new guitar owners hugging their guitars, not hiding them under their beds,” added Moscal.
Play-A-Tab is available for iPhone or iPad in the Apple App Store and will soon be released on Google Play.
