Salman Khan's "friend" Yazmin Khan fumes over incorrect media coverage

New York-born and now Mumbai-based model and actress Yazmin Khan is livid. And she has every right to be so. First a prominent TV channel recently ran a news report on Bigg Boss 7 and mentioned her name as one of the probable participants, quoting reliable sources as saying that the leggy model has Salman Khan's "aashirwaad" for the popular reality show.

Indo-American model Yasmeen Khan in Bigg Boss 7?

If the Bigg Boss 7 grapevine is to be believed, Salman Khan's "New York friend" model and Yasmeen Khan is likely to be in Bigg Boss 7. According to reliable sources, Yasmeen Khan who used to shuttle between New York, Mumbai and Delhi for modeling assignments has shifted base to Mumbai lock, stock and barrel with family and even purchased a flat in suburban Mumbai. 22-year-old Yasmeen who harbors acting dreams and wants to one day take up acting as a serious career option is also a “good friend” of Bollywood Badshah Salman Khan. The two have occasionally been in touch on SMS and mail and it is rumored that Salman Khan probably put in a good word for Yasmeen enabling her to get on India’s most popular reality show. However, as expected the channel wouldn’t confirm anything.
Yasmeen refused to speak to the media and said she cannot comment on media speculation or media reports. Apparently, a prominent TV channel recently ran a news report on Bigg Boss 7 and mentioned her name as one of the probable participants. “All I can say is I really wonder where you mediawallas get all this gossip from,” said Yasmeen with a twinkle in her eyes.

Mary Stuart extended for a fourth time

August 23, 2013… The Stratford Festival is extending Artistic Director Antoni Cimolino’s production of Mary Stuart for an unprecedented fourth time.

The production, described as “electrifyingly entertaining and intellectually exciting” by the Toronto Star’s Richard Ouzounian and “edge-of-your-seat suspenseful” by The Globe and Mail’s J. Kelly Nestruck, featuresSeana McKenna as Elizabeth I and Lucy Peacock as Mary Stuart, with Ben Carlson as Lord Burleigh, Brian Dennehy as the Earl of Shrewsbury and Geraint Wyn Davies as the Earl of Leicester.

Mary Stuart is striking for the clarity of its storytelling, the constant intensity of its dramatic stakes and, especially, for the evenhanded excellence of Lucy Peacock and Seana McKenna in the leading roles,” says Chris Jones in the Chicago Tribune. “This is one for the memory books, with two remarkable actresses at the peak of their powers,” says Postmedia’s Jamie Portman.

Chitrakoot - an unexplored destination in India, immortalized by the magical myth from epic Ramayana

StarBuzzOnline.com
By
Meena Chopra
The ancient town of Chitrakoot lies in the historical Chitrakoot region, which is divided between the present-day Indian states of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. It is known for a number of temples and sites mentioned in Hindu scriptures. Chitrakoot means the 'Hill of many wonders'. Situated in the northern spurs of the Vindhyas, Chitrakoot gives an enchanting feeling to travellers with its natural forests, gurgling streams and beautiful falls.
According to the Hindu epic Ramayana, Lord Rama spent the first 11 years of his exile along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman in Chitrakoot. As per Hindu mythology, Chitrakoot was also the home of the great sage Atri and Sati Anusuya. It was at Chitrakoot that the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh took birth as Soma (the Moon), Dattatreya and Durvasa as the children of Sage Atri and Sati Anusuya.

Dr. Jyotsna Suri,
CMD Lalit Suri Hospitality Group
After exploring the legacy of Khajuraho's art, its manifestation of the essence of the philosophy of Indian aesthetics along with the history of Chandela dynasty with its unexplored dimensions,  Dr. Jyotsna Suri, CMD Lalit Suri Hospitality Group was eager to go beyond, explore and revive the magical mythological mystery and the ancient history surrounding the land of Chitrakoot. "An ancient township which is 144 kilometers away from Khajuraho yet remained undiscovered in spite of the fact that Lord Rama spent eleven and a half years of his 14 years of exile there," says Dr. Suri.

Totally enamored by the rich cultural heritage of the area, a full campaign was initiated by the Lalit Suri Hospitality Group which was initiated and led by Dr, Jyotsna Suri. Chief Minister of U.P Mr. Akhilesh Yadav fully supported and welcomed the initiative of the group to develop this region in bringing it to the world's tourist map. Chief Minister Yadav believes that Chitrakoot has a huge tourist potential.

The distance of 144 kilometers Khajuraho to Chitrakoot was covered in 9 days by 100 cyclists in "Chalo Chitrakoot Abhiyan", who passed through 73 villages of that area which is rich with ancient history, culture and the mystical myths. "Lalit Ramayana Festival" was also started depicting many episodes of epic Ramayana.

Dr. Jyotsna Suri has been committed in  promoting Indian tourism – both nationally and internationally. She has been the Chairperson of FICCI Tourism Committee for the last six years. Under her leadership, FICCI introduced ‘The Great India Travel Bazaar’ in 2008 and ‘The Great Domestic Tourism Bazaar’ in 2011 – two keenly awaited events in the tourism sector facilitating tourism business interactions. The group is committed in developing new destinations in India.

Make the Most of Your Smile

(Family Features) A great smile is something a lot of people want. In fact, a recent survey by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) found that more people would pay to fix the quality of their teeth than pay for weight loss help.
"A nice healthy smile can be as simple as having your teeth professionally cleaned or whitened or achieved with cosmetic dentistry," said Dr. George Tysowsky who is the Vice President of Technology at Ivoclar Vivadent and Clinical Assistant Professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine. "The nice thing about upgrading your smile is that it's totally scalable in cost and effect. A great way for patients to start the process is to have a consultation with their dentist."
If you're thinking about improving your smile, here's what you need to know about your options:
Teeth Whitening - When you get your teeth whitened at the dentist, a bleaching agent is applied to your teeth and, sometimes, a laser is used to enhance the whitening agent. You can do it yourself with at-home bleaching kits that use peroxide to whiten teeth. You may experience increased sensitivity or gum irritation. You can also use whitening toothpastes, which have mild abrasives to remove surface stains.
Professional Cleanings - Regular cleanings from your dental hygienist are an important part of good oral health care; and they will keep your smile bright and healthy. Cleanings can help prevent gum disease, which is one of the major causes of bone loss, if left untreated. When you have dental cleanings, you're also checked for signs of oral cancer.
Restorations - Some teeth need more than a simple cleaning or brightening. Dr. Tysowsky says that one of the products your dentist might recommend is IPS e.max. "This is a dental treatment that can help improve smiles anywhere from fixing discolored or stained teeth, to correcting crooked, chipped, or decayed teeth and much more." The IPS e.max system consists entirely of metal-free materials that closely resemble the appearance of natural teeth. "Because e.max all-ceramic crowns are created from a special material called lithium disilicate, your dentist has greater ability to match your original tooth's color, consistency and physical characteristics," said Dr. Tysowsky. "It is the leading all-ceramic restoration used today; a perfect replacement to the traditional metal-based structure utilized in the past." Learn more about it at www.smiletothemax.com.
"I think the hardest part is admitting that you're not completely satisfied with your smile," said Dr. Tysowsky. "Your smile is your signature.  It tells people that you are an outgoing, confident person worth getting to know. So I recommend taking the first step and setting up an appointment with your dentist."

Stress, Emotional Eating and Weight

Keeping a healthy weight—and especially losing weight—is not easy for many reasons says Dr. George Traitses. For one, easy access to extremely tasty high-calorie foods pushes many to overeat. Living with stress—a common source of negative emotions—also makes it difficult to keep healthy habits. In fact, according to www.webmd.com, up to 75 percent of overeating is driven by emotions. Stress in particular has the power to push people toward overeating and other unhealthy behaviors. Research shows that stress forces people—particularly those who usually restrain their eating—to eat more and to choose high-fat foods over healthier ones. The high calorie foods serve as self-medication, producing a relief from negative emotions. Of course, the relief is only temporary—the effect of chocolate, for example, disappears after only three minutes, according to studies.

2013 Media Summit- August 19, 2013!

  • 2013MediaSummit, hosted by Sarah-Jean VIlla: http://t.co/egBEGmZVtv.

Last summer, over 10 multitalented artists got together at the state-of-the-art Rogers Theatre at the Living Arts to present their films, followed by a Q & A session with each of the filmmakers at the inaugural Meet the Media Makers of Mississauga Event. Talents collided to form a fusion of art ranging from short films to documentaries about archery and break dancing, horror flicks as well as shorts with captivating topics and all for a good cause! Money raised went directly to the Canadian DeafBlind Association, benefiting those that are not as fortunate to see and hear the moving picture. Produced by the Mississauga Arts Council (MAC), along with New Village Filmworks’ Independent Filmmaker, Jeffrey W. Pike, the evening was fun, entertaining, and an eye opening celebration of local Mississauga media arts and the artists behind the work!
This year, MAC is back in full force with another media spectacle, the 2013 Media Summit that will take place this summer on Monday, August 19, 2013 from 7-9pm at the Rogers Theatre of the Living Arts Centre, located at 4141 Living Arts Drive. The red carpet will commence at 6:30 p.m. with live streaming courtesy of Live Eye Media (www.livestream.com/mississaugalive).
