ANOKHI’s 10th Anniversary Event Confirms the Attendance of International Superstar PRIYANKA CHOPRA!

Priyanka Chopra, to Rowenta Beauty presents ANOKHI’s 10^th Anniversary Event, in association with Johnnie Walker. This milestone event is taking place on Saturday February 2^nd, 2013, at the award-winning Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto, and is being hosted in honor of reaching an incredible milestone: 10 years of publishing ANOKHI magazine, with the launch of the 10^th Anniversary Collector’s Edition releasing in January 2013.

 At the young age of 17, Priyanka won Miss India and Miss World titles consecutively, catapulting her onto the global radar right from the beginning. She is one of the most recognized and applauded talents in Indian Cinema today, having received one National Film Award and four prestigious Filmfare Awards in India. In 2011, after a decade long career in films and amassing an incredible global fan base, Priyanka, Bollywood’s most successful actress of the past decade, signed with 2101/DesiHits/Interscope, making her the biggest South Asian musical launch in western history, as well as being the first Bollywood star ever to be signed to Hollywood powerhouse, Creative Artists Agency. Priyanka launched her music career with her first single ‘In My City,’ featuringwill.I.am, which recently debuted on the NFL Network’s ‘Thursday Night Football,’ as well as selling over 200,000 units within a month in India alone. The single is said to be inspired by the many cities that she has lived in while growing up, and her journey from a small-town girl to a globally recognized artist. As the international superstar continues to leave her mark in cinema, the world eagerly awaits her forthcoming album due for release this year. Priyanka also lends her time to numerous humanitarian causes close to her heart, one being an ambassador to green initiatives.

Along with Priyanka, many notable personalities from the South Asian global community have been highlighted in ANOKHI’s 10^th Anniversary collector’s issue, within a special premiere sectioncalled ‘THE PRESTIGE LIST’, compiled by a knowledgeable outreach committee across ANOKHI’s global network. Honorees of this list are international “visionaries” and “innovators” who inspire by their example, and are notable individuals who have made mammoth leaps forward in the fields of:fashion, beauty, business and entertainment; hailing from Canada, the US, the UK & India. As noted by Raj Girn, Publisher of ANOKHI magazine and CEO of ANOKHI MEDIA, “We will be celebrating the vast contributions and achievements of internationally successful South Asians who have made their indelible global mark over this past dynamic decade since ANOKHI magazine first launched in 2002.”

Select honorees of ‘THE PRESTIGE LIST’ will be attending ‘THE PRESTIGE AWARDS’, a three hour show taking place during the 10^th Anniversary event festivities, where they will be showcased in various capacities. 

Please Note: Actor, Lisa Ray will no longer be attending the event. Here is her statement for why she has needed to cancel her current engagements: “As many of you know, I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2009. What you may not know is that Multiple Myeloma is a chronic condition which means I will always live with it. I have known since my diagnosis it is likely I would have to undergo treatments and maintenance therapy on a periodic basis. Several weeks ago it was determined by my doctors that I should begin a course of treatment, which I have already started…” – Lisa Ray

The event will comprise a three segment dynamic program:

-                      6.00pm – 7.45pm: Media Red Carpet Reception

Attending celebrities will be seen walking the red carpet, during interview opportunities with the attending media. 

-                      8.00pm – 11.00pm: 3 hour Live Awards Show

               Showcasing ‘THE PRESTIGE AWARDS’ presentations, a spectacular fashion runway showcase and dynamic    

               celebrity musical performances.

-                      10.00pm – 3.00am: VIP After Party

               With celebrity DJ, Baba Kahn alongside Toronto’s finest, DJ Jiten and DJ Ase.
