Canadian recording artist Prita Chhabra wins big at the 2012 Toronto Independent Music Awards (TIMA) this past Saturday October 6th, in the 'Best World Music' category for her "Roots" and "Dance" singles. Prita was previously nominated 'Best Female Act' at the 2010 Toronto Independent Music Awards for singles from her debut CD "Spread The Word", but this is Prita's first win at the TIMA's.
The Toronto Independent Music Awards launched in 2004, with nominees and winners being chosen by a Grand Jury that includes Canadian superstars Bif Naked and Jully Black, as well as industry heavyweights Eric Alper and Vikas Kohli among others.
