PC MPP Jim Wilson presenting Dr. Sohail Gandhi the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal 

StarBuzz, Toronto-Ontario PC MPP Jim Wilson presented Dr. Sohail Gandhi, a family physician at the Stayner Medical Centre for 20 years with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal. PC MPP Wilson said "This prestigious medal is Canada's way of celebrating Her Majesty the Queen's 60-year reign, and itt is being awarded to outstanding citizens who share Queen Elizabeth's devotion to service” said Wilson.

Dr. Sohail Gandhi is recognized for "his distinguished career in the field of medicine, notably for his involvement in the establishment of the Georgian Bay Family Health Team".

The Georgian Bay Family Health Team formed under Gandhi's leadership in 2007 as part of a provincial strategy to address a shortage of family physicians.

Wilson lauded the recipient for making Ontario and Canada a better place to live.

"They have improved the well-being of our communities and inspired others to take up the call to service, just like Queen Elizabeth," he said.
