Karygiannis condemns defacing of Brampton Sikh School

TORONTO – The Honourable Jim Karygiannis, Member of Parliament for Scarborough-Agincourt and Liberal Critic for Multiculturalism, is horrified that racist graffiti has defaced a Sikh elementary school in Brampton.

“This malicious act has been committed by person or persons who practice hate.” said Mr. Karygiannis.  “On behalf of my Leader, Caucus colleagues and the entire Liberal Party, I condemn this blatant act of hatred.”

On Tuesday, Principal Ripsodhak Grewal of the Khalsa Community School discovered a swastika and the letters KKK spray painted on the outside wall of the gymnasium.  The school is the largest private Sikh school in Ontario.

“This sort of hatred has no place in Canada.  I urge anyone who has information about this despicable act to immediately contact Peel Regional Police.”  Mr. Karygiannis stated.  “The perpetrators must be found and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
