Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra’s Toronto Kahani!

Fandemonium ripped through Toronto on June 22 as fans of all ages, including a 5 year old boy from Afghanistan, waited patiently for hours at Toronto’s prestigious Elgin Theatre for their favorite Bollywood stars to arrive for the premiere of the movie Teri Meri Kahani (TMK). The film produced by Vicki Bahri and directed by Kunal Kohli, has the most happening hero of the moment, Shahid Kapoor and the dusky beauty Priyanka Chopra alongside him in this eternal love story.

A rising crescendo of screaming fans greeted the stars as they arrived. Priyanka looked ravishing in her simple yet stylish green dress accompanying stud Shahid in a dark blue suit with shirt unbuttoned to reveal just a glimpse of his lithe athletic body. They went together as a team through the line of media interviews on the Red Carpet smiling and answering all the questions patiently. Fans banged on the closed doors, yelling in ecstasy! The stars moved inside the theatre and after a brief introduction on stage, they sizzled together displaying their off screen chemistry; laughing and smiling at the audience and loving every moment of being in Toronto with their beloved fans. Shahid bowled over the audience with a short and sweet recital of romantic shayari (poetry) from the movie while Priyanka graciously obliged all the fans by signing autographs. The couple did not show any signs of jet lag despite their very hectic schedule after a successful premiere of TMK first in Dubai and then in London. Shahid and Priyanka had arrived in Toronto for the last and final stop in their international circuit for the promotion of their new film TMK. Kunal Kohli was excited to be in Toronto and was very happy with the exuberant reception by our city’s Bollywood fans .The star team did not expect such a warm and emotional welcome from our Torontonians! As the movie started, the couple went on to attend an after party event on the west side of town – in Brampton.They were warmly welcomed by large crowds outside the banquet hall along with dhol players and beautiful SAMA model dancers who appropriately added glamour to the occasion. Inside the crowded Grand Empire banquet hall, on stage, the stars with the producer and director shared their love of Toronto with the audience. Priyanka and Shahid both had fond memories of their previous visits to Toronto – Priyanka for the Toronto International Film Festival for her film ‘What’s your Rashi’ and for IIFA 2011 and Shahid during the filming of his movie ‘Kismet Konnection’. They left the hall after a rapid fire round of questions à la Koffee with Karan style and had the audience wanting for more especially after Shahid demonstrated his sexy moves on stage!
