Get decked out in red and white this July 1st during the Ninth Annual Port Credit Paint The Town Red Canada Day Festival!

www.insurancerate.com StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-Port Credit will once again ring in Canada's birthday in style during the ninth annual Paint The Town Red Canada Day Festival on Sunday, July 1st! Featuring a spectacular parade with special guest marshals Mayor Hazel McCallion and Chuck Ealey, live entertainment, special ceremonies and lots of activities, it's the perfect way to experience the best that Port Credit has to offer!

The action kicks off at 11 a.m. with a grand parade, which will travel from the corner of Lakeshore Road and Stavebank Road to Seneca Avenue, led by Grand Marshals Mayor Hazel McCallion and former Toronto Argonaut/Hall of Famer Chuck Ealey. With colourful floats, bands, giveaways and much more, this parade is the perfect way to kick off the Canada Day festivities!

Following the parade, a special giant Canada Day cake-cutting ceremony and O Canada sing-along will be held at La Villa Bakery (Lakeshore Road and Wenonah Avenue), beginning at 12:30 p.m. Come out and get a piece of red-and-white birthday cake while enjoying live entertainment! Of course, what day wouldn't be complete without some sweet strawberries? Regency Retirement Residence (located at 29 Mississauga Road North) will hold its annual Strawberry Social from 1:30 – 4 p.m. Featuring complementary ice cream sundaes (with all the fixings) and fresh strawberries, it's a cool way to celebrate your Canadian pride!

Live entertainment will also run all afternoon at various sites throughout the village, including Johnny Max at the Credit Village Marina (1 – 4 p.m.), Melissa V at the corner of Hurontario and Lakeshore (1 – 4 p.m.), T-Rox Music Academy at the corner of Lakeshore Road and Helene Street (1 p.m.) and the Lowe School of Music at the Port Credit Lighthouse (12 p.m,). The Port Credit Arena will also host a Show 'N Shine Car Show, which runs from 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., and the P.C. Legion will hold a family barbecue featuring live entertainment, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Don't forget to visit Port Credit Memorial Park, which will be hosting free activities, including magic shows, music, inflatable tents and bouncy castles, craft tents, Canada Day cupcake decorating, trivia games, pony rides and more!

At 6 p.m., the main stage entertainment kicks off at Memorial Park with the Legends Alive In Concert 2012 Tribute series, featuring the best artists from all genres of music, including Lady Gaga, Rod Stewart, The Bee Gees, Tom Jones, a Brass Chicago Tribute and more! Finally, at 10 p.m., crowds will gather in Memorial Park to take part in a massive O Canada sing-along with Mary McKay, capped off by a massive fireworks display, which will be seen throughout the village!

Paint The Town Red is more than just a show of national pride – it's a party! Over the past few years, more than 160,000 people have visited Port Credit on Canada Day! 2012 promises to be even better!
