www.insurancerate.com StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-MISSISSAUGA, ON - There has never been a better time to be an artist in the city of Mississauga! The inaugural Meet the Media Makers of Mississauga Event for filmmakers and media arts fanatics is coming to the state-of-the-art Rogers Theatre at the Living Arts Centre (4141 Living Arts Dr., in Mississauga) this July 12, 2012 and the call for submissions has been extended to Monday, July 2, 2012. Produced by the Mississauga Arts Council (MAC), along with Limelight Association of Young Artists' Chairman and New Village Filmworks' Independent Filmmaker, Jeffrey W. Pike, the event promises to be fun, entertaining and an eye opening celebration of media arts and the artists behind the work.
There will be an exhilerating evening full of entertainment, provided by Mississauga's own creative media makers. If you love producing your own shots, features, documentaries or web series, then this is your chance to get involved! Everyone is welcome to apply. Even if you are a singer, dancer or visual artist, you can still participate by submitting a multimedia project of your performance. In order to be considered, you must send a link of your media work to the Mississauga Arts Council's Communications Coordinator, Luiza Sadowski by email to media@ mississaugaartscouncil.com.
The event will feature a showcase of independent film and video and a chance for movie discussions in the form of a Q & A with Mississauga's film industry professionals, many of which are past MARTY Award winners! The Meet the Media Makers of Mississauga Event is doubling as a benefit for the Canadian Deafblind Association of Ontario.
Jeffrey W. Pike expressed his enthusiasm about the inaugural event. "It feels great to have the opportunity to organize such an important event. I need to thank the Mississauga Arts Council for their amazing support! Not only are we celebrating the local talent we have in the GTA, but it's our chance to give back to those who aren't fortunate enough to experience the media arts that we all love."
Come out and experience Mississauga's finest media works, meet with the artists behind the material and donate to the less fortunate who are unable to truly enjoy the art of the moving image.
