StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-MONTREAL – July, 23 2011 – The Canadian public’s tips and information have led to the capture of a second individual suspected of being complicit in war crimes or crimes against humanity.
This update follows Thursday’s announcement where the Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety and the Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, asked Canadians to help in identifying 30 individuals accused of being complicit in war crimes or crimes against humanity, and who are thought to be hiding out in locations across Canada The Government reports that the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Border Watch Line as well as law enforcement partners across the country has tips pouring in, resulting in the apprehension of a second individual named on the web site.
Arshad Muhammad from Pakistan is now in CBSA custody. “The help that Canadians are providing to Canada Border Services is proving to be beyond what we had expected”, said Public Safety Minister Vic Toews.
“Those who have been involved in war crimes or crimes against humanity will find no haven on our shores; they will be located, and they will face the consequences,” concluded Minister Toews. The Ministers thank the public for their assistance and ask that they continue to look at the CBSA web site for updates.
Members of the public are reminded that they should not take action to apprehend the individuals listed on the website. Any information should be reported to the CBSA Border Watch Line at 1-888-502-9060 and continue to send in any tips as to the whereabouts of these wanted individuals.
