StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-January 20, 2011: Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan has suddenly decided that he’s not going to get into the bandwagon of owning the IPL. The Indian Premier League or the IPL was once considered to be the best business to be in for the very rich of course and thus quite a few Bollywood stars like Shahrukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty with hubby Raj Kundra and Preity Zinta had plunged into it with getting partnerships in holdings of teams that they believed in.
However after Saif Ali Khan had once declared that he and his muse Kareena Kapoor had also wanted to someday go in for investing in a team in the IPL there were speculations that probably someday the two would announce that they were indeed going in for the splurge.
But call it the very professional side of Saif or the wise Saif- recently tabloids are going berserk reporting that now the Chhote Nawab is no longer interested in going in for any kind of ownership of the IPL.
Reportedly Saif has gone on to say that he is not a billionaire so no IPL for him. He has stated that he would rather go in for production of more films under his own production house which he has set up with a lot of enthusiasm.
The latest film to be made under his production house is the suspense thriller Agent Vinod with him and Kareena Kapoor in the lead. His future projects are films like Race 2 and his next home production is going to be a film titled Cocktail.
So, as of now Saif Ali Khan is happy to stick to familiar turf of films and film making- no cricket strategies for the stylish nawab here!
