“Jhootha Hi Sahi” Movie Preview

Characters:
John Abraham: Siddharth
Siddharth (Sid) has the soul of an adventure. He loves mountain climbing... busting drug lords... deep sea diving with sharks... but only on TV. He hasn't actually done anything adventurous in his life. His dreams of climbing Mount Everest were lost to the grind of life. So in reality, Siddharth runs an Indian bookshop in London with his friend Omar. Siddharth was a fat child who grew up to be a very shy and introvert guy, he still stammers when around a pretty girl. And he cannot fathom why a girl like Krutika would want to be his girlfriend. His family is back home in India, so his friends form his family. And the one thing all of them agree on is that he should break up with 'Kutti' - ka... err... Krutika.

Pakhi: Mishka
Mishka (no Russian connection) is a girl with a past. It started with her father... who went to get cigarettes and never came back. That's the first time she felt abandoned. Next... it was her mother... then her boyfriend. Mishka has come to believe that everyone she has ever loved has lied to her. Deep down, she is a girl who is full of life and she wants to be happy, but has forgotten how. She just needs someone to pull her out of her shell and show her that life can be beautiful. And that's exactly what happens when Mishka meets Siddharth. But will Siddharth break her heart too?
Raghu Ram: Omar
Omar is Sid's 4 am friend. Not that he has a choice. He is also Sid's neighbor. Omar and Sid met at work when both of them worked at a boring IT company. When they discovered their common passion for books, they quit their jobs and started their own little bookstore called 'Kagaaz ke Phool'. Although he is the older sibling, his sister Aliya controls and runs his house. Not that Omar ever minds being bullied by her. Omar is Siddharth's best friend and confidante and above all he is Sid's conscious. So every time Sid lies, Omar is the one who warns him of the potential repercussions. He is the president of the 'We hate Kutti-ka' club.
Manasi Scott:
Krutika
Also lovingly known as 'Kutti-ka', she is the girlfriend everyone wishes Siddharth never had. An air hostess by profession, Krutika loves Siddharth, but loves controlling him more. From making sure he has more 'greens' on his plate to choosing what curtains and linen suit his apartment, Krutika has to have a say in everything. Oh and the immense (ahem) LOVE, that the group feels for her... lets just say, the feeling is mutual.

Anaitha Nair: Sushi
Calling her 'Sushma Ranganathan' can be injurious to your health. One of the seven children born to a conservative south Indian family in London, Sushi grew up craving for her parent's attention. No one realizes that somewhere behind her loud attire and wacky demeanor is a confused soul. Behind the loud mouth weirdo who always exaggerates about her sexual escapades is a girl who has probably never had a boyfriend. The closest thing Mishka has to a friend is Sushi.

Alishka Varde: Aliya
Born in Pakistan, Aliya, a wild child was getting suffocated. Her parents wanted her to blossom and grow up to be her own person, so they shipped her off to London with her brother Omar as her chaperon. She has her own pickle business that is quite successful. At least Aliya likes to believe so - and no one dares to disagree with her. When you see her, the first thing you'll notice is that she is pregnant. The father of the child, Nick, absolutely adores her and wants to marry her. In fact, Aliya's days are spent battling Nick's numerous proposals for marriage. Aliya knows Nick loves her, which is quite apparent to everyone around her as well. But nobody understands why she wouldn't just say 'Yes'.
Prahsant Chawla:
Uday
Owner of a happening gay club in London, Uday parties his way through life. Best thing about him.....he is absolutely unapologetic about his lifestyle. Uday is a complete player and dates a new guy every week. He has a strange bond with Aliya and seeks her approval about every guy he dates. There is a weekly dinner at Aliya and Omar's house where he brings his 'Boyfriend of the week' hoping to get that elusive nod from Aliya. The day she says 'yes' to a guy, Uday would immediately move in with him.

Omar Khan: Amit
Born in a conservative Gujarati family, Amit grew up with a secret. He is gay. This was not too big a problem for him till his parents started forcing him into meeting 'good gujju girls' for marriage? Amit ran away from home and came to London where he started working at Siddharth and Omar's bookshop. Everyone in Siddharth's group adores him and in them, he has found a new family that accepts him for who he is. Another thing you should know about Amit - He has a huge 'school boy' crush on the group's hottie, Uday.

George Young: Nick
Nick is a Japanese banker, born and raised in London. He was a late child and his parents passed away when he was very young. He craves for a family of his own. No wonder he is over the moon when his girlfriend (Aliya) tells him she is pregnant with his child. Nick's sole purpose in life these days is to somehow get Aliya to marry him. But for some reason she keeps snubbing every one of his outrageously dramatic proposals.
Synopsis
