EIGHTEEN EMERGING WRITERS HAVE CONTRIBUTED THEIR PROSE AND POETRY TO THE NEW ANTHOLOGY ‘THE COURTNEYPARK CONNECTION,’ TO BE LAUNCHED ON AUGUST 24.

There’s a story behind the scenes of the launch of the new title, The Courtneypark Connection.  A writers group was formed about three years ago by Cheryl Antao-Xavier and myself, Mary Ellen Koroscil. Cheryl published the book through her company, In Our Words Inc.  www.inourwords.ca  Both of us have our work featured in the book, along with sixteen other writers who have contributed their selections of prose and poetry.  So we have a total of eighteen authors represented in the anthology. We are delighted to be in such good company of writers.  

As the story goes, we began meeting once a month at the Courtneypark Library, in Mississauga.  As the group continued to grow so did our confidence.  We challenged ourselves by writing in different genres.  Early on, some of our members focused on writing poetry only.  Soon they developed the skill to write short stories and went on to write novels, as well.   Our excitement mounted as we continued to write and the bonus was the fact that marvelous friendships quickly evolved.  Our common bond was a love of writing.

We have the Courtneypark Library to thank for providing the space to bring us together, every month for the past three years.  We wish to cordially invite everyone to share our excitement with the launch of our new anthology, entitled, The Courtneypark Connection. Please join us to celebrate the launch on August 24, at 1:00 p.m. at the Courtneypark Library, 730 Courtneypark Drive West, (Mavis Rd., & Hwy. 401 area), in Mississauga.

Each contributing writer will read their selected work during the program. Refreshments will be served and there’s no charge for admission.  

During the launch this is your opportunity to meet the contributing authors featured in the anthology and to purchase a personally signed copy of the book, the cost is $20.00.
